ZADAR, CROATIA: Croatian
President, Dr Franjo Tuđman yesterday opened an electrical power grid linking Zadar and
Rijeka via the isles of Krk, Rab and Pag. The grid will ensure a more reliable supply of
electricity to these areas.

A new power station in Stara Novalja on the isle of Pag was opened today. This project
connects Rab and Stara Novalja via power cable along the sea bed and secures electricity
for Pag, Zadar and the Zadar hinterland.
